Being inside the heroine’s head was mentally exhausting for me. Like I can’t tell if it’s character building or crappy writing? But nooooo, the just dance around for TWENTY THREE chapters droning on and on about pointless things. You frequently don’t feel like you’re in a romance while reading one of Ms Zapata’s books. I find it hard to believe that the hero and heroine could go an entire year being buddy buddy pen pals, exchanging all sorts of pictures back and forth and NOT bothering to ask for one of each other.
